2017 OK Bike Summit
May 19 – May 20 all-day

The 2017 OK Bike Summit will be in Muskogee and Tahlequah on May 19th and 20th, respectively!  And I believe the activities in TQ on the 20th may include a “Trail of Tears” ribbon cutting by Chief Baker.

The theme for this year’s Bike Summit is “Building Healthy Bodies and Healthy Communities” and will be focusing on the mental and physical benefits of cycling – specifically featuring programs from Muskogee and across the state such as:

  • Low Vision Spin (a spin class for the students at the local School for the Blind)
  • Project Hero (a veterans rehabilitation cycling program)
  • P4P (a program for Parkinson’s patients in which one hour of cycling has resulted in hours, and sometimes days, free of any tremors)
  • TSET Healthy Living Programs (developing more opportunities and support for cycling and other active transportation in counties across the state).

These initiatives are saving lives and improving the quality of life for people right here in Green Country and across the state!
